Outfit of the Day

Outfits of the Day, May 21st to 25th

The weather continues to be back and forth. Some days were nice (mostly) but some days were chilly. I can’t wait for it to be 70 degrees when I get up in the morning, so I don’t have to worry about a sweater anymore for the mornings and then get hot in the afternoon. I did not wear vintage on Tuesday this week because it was rainy and cold, so I wore a modern trouser and blouse (I didn’t take a picture because it was boring). I still need to invest in some 1940s trousers for days like this.

Today I finally got to wear a true vintage skirt from the 1950s that I found at The Vintage Market in Salem, CT at the end of March.

I was off from work today and it was a beautiful, warm, sunny day so I wore a dress that I wouldn’t wear to work normally. I got to spend some time in the ward with my dog, which was nice! And of course I can never take a picture at home without her at my feet!

Outfit of the Day

Outfits of the Day April 28th & 29th

I just got back from a too short, 4 day vacation to Florida. It was so warm and lovely. I spent most of my time in the water. I live in New England right on the beach and I haven’t gone in the water (more than my toes) in years. The water in Florida was so warm that I actually completely submerged myself in it several times!

Saturday we spent the entire day at Clearwater Beach. The weather was prefect and it was such a cute spot. It was so nice to feel the sand in between my toes and the sun on my skin. And I got to wear my vintage style, high waist bathing suit! I’m, being brave and posting a picture of myself in a bathing suit so you all can see it! Also check out the cat eye sunglasses I got at Target!

Sunday, my daughter and I had a Mother/Daughter day at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park. It’s a crystal clear natural spring for swimming and a last river that was not so lazy. They also have a mermaid show that has been going on there since the late 1940s. Now my daughter wants to be a Weeki Wachee Mermaid when she is old enough. It was an even warmer day and I got to wear this cute polka dot vintage style dress that I found at target. The skirt portion has buttons up the front and a tie on the chest area. Target also sells this dress in white with black polka dots. My mother-in-law let me borrow the vintage hat that I’m wearing.

Vacation was a success! I’m sad to be back home, but at least the weather here in New England is starting to warm up a bit and I can wear all the dresses, including some new ones I can’t wait to show you at the end of the week.

What are your favorite vintage pieces to wear when you go on vacation to some place tropical?
